Succeeding the pictorial modernity of the Independence of Morocco (1956) brought by the advent of abstraction and the incorporation of the cultural heritage of signs (Cherkaoui, Gharbaoui or Melehi), a new generation of artists claims painting as a subject and invents new pictorial universes freed from cultural heritage. Three decades very well represented in the collection Attijariwafa bank with artists such as Abouelouakar, Bellamine, Benbouchta, Miloudi, Mehadji, Meliani… The exhibition focuses on large formats to better understand this prolific period, which corresponds within the Attijariwafa Bank Group, to the development of a real awareness for the dynamisation of the arts.” (Excerpt from the opening text of the exhibition, Ghitha Triki).
