Profile of the company:
Deutsche Börse AG, operator of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, is one of the largest exchange organizations in the world. The limited company was founded in Frankfurt am Main in 1993 after several medium-sized enterprises merged to form the Deutsche Börse Group, which currently employs approximately 4,000 staff members in numerous locations throughout Europe and maintains representative offices across the globe.
Deutsche Börse Group has been a major sponsor of contemporary photography since 1999 by establishing Art Collection Deutsche Börse, which today comprises about 1,600 mostly large-size works from around 100 international artists.
In late summer 2015 the Deutsche Börse group transferred its photo art-related activities to a foundation, the "Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation". The objective of the Frankfurt-based non-profit organisation is to promote contemporary photography. This is Deutsche Börse's approach to making its commitment to cultural activities permanent. The foundation activities remain focussed on collecting, exhibiting and promoting contemporary photography.
