PLMJ Foundation is located at the PLMJ law firm headquarters in Lisbon, and has the collection spread all across the offices in Portugal, Mozambique and Angola.

This corporate art collection, which features about 1300 contemporary art works, originally focused on more conservative forms of artistic expression, such as painting, drawing and sculpture, but quickly a taste for diversity led to the inclusion of photography, video and installation as art forms. The investment in less widely celebrated artistic creations and the risk inherent to it has always been a constant concern of the art collection. In parallel with this, and in tune with the internationalisation of the PLMJ Law Firm, the Foundation decided to widen the scope of its collection in order to encompass artistic creations from Lusophone countries, a circumstance that became an emblematic feature of its present collection.

Rui Chafes sculpture, Sou como tu (2008), located in the city center of Lisbon, specifically in Avenida da Liberdade in an area adjacent to the head offices headquarters of the PLMJ, and donated it to the city of Lisbon. It was commisioned in the context of the 40th anniversary of the PLMJ.

Such is the inevitable consequence of a healthy rapport between the founding entity (PLMJ Law Firm) and the founded entity (PLMJ Foundation). Hence, throughout the Foundation’s history the following initiatives (among others) were carried out:
