Edward Burtynsky: Aqua Shock Selections From The Water Project
Curator: William A. Ewing
Exhibition organized and toured by ADMIRA, Milan
Burtynsky’s most ambitious body of work to date will be exhibited at the Borusan Contemporary, which is a pioneer with its office museum structure. “Aqua Shock: Selections from the Water Project” explores humanity’s increasingly stressed relationship with the world’s most vital natural resource. Developed over a period of five years, the photographer travelled extensively from the Gulf of Mexico to the shores of the Ganges employing various unusual methods like crews, man-lifts, aircraft, remote-controlled UAS (Unmanned Aerial System) and a custom-made pneumatic mast with camera mount and fiber-optic remote. The host of the exhibition, Borusan Contemporary, Perili Kö?k in Istanbul was founded to introduce the Borusan Contemporary Art Collection to a wider audience and to help promote contemporary art in Turkey.
