Common Ground: Earth is the first exhibition of the series entitled Common Ground: Earth, Water, Air – Selections From Borusan Contemporary Collection that will be on view throughout 2014-15. This series includes three inter-related exhibitions that aim to offer a thematic look into the Borusan Contemporary Art Collection. It brings together works from the collection that are selected on the basis of a shared concern of the concepts of the three “commons” including earth, water and air.
Common Ground: Earth, brings together works from the collection that, in various ways, refer to Earth as an aesthetic medium, conceptual process and reality in which we live. It brings together works by Sarkis, Ay?e Erkmen, Keith Sonnier, Markus Linnenbrink, Liam Gillick, Ola Kolehmainen, François Morellet, Hans Kotter, Necdet Kalay, Brigitte Kowanz, Paul Schwer, Alejandro Almanza, Doug Aitken, Jim Dine, Peter Coffin, Sung Hyun Lee and Jim Campbell among others, and invite the audience to engage in an ecological, spiritual and symbolic journey on Earth at the premises of Borusan Contemporary.
